About Us

Brief History

Wesley Shreve began as an electricial contractor in South Florida in 1980 as part of Shreve and Butterworth, Inc.. In 1981, WesWorth Electric, Inc. was born and diversified into service electrical. Over the years, Wesley steered Wesworth into all facets of electrical including Energy Reduction Services. By 2005, Wesworth had over 20 employees. Eventually, Wesley sold his electrical business to his field supervisor in 2005.

In October 2005, Associated Electrical Services, Inc. d/b/a Wesworth Electric bought Wesley's electrical operations. However, Wesley continued offering speciality electrical service and consulting. He partnered with Rhey Hedges redeveloping EET Motor control technology. Later on, in 2008, Wesley joined Bob Durham to launch their UPS Battery Backup business, GreenlightUPS.

Sadly, in November 2010, Associated closed their doors after struggling with the collapsing economy. So, in December 2010, Wesley re-openned his electrical division to serivce his customers that have been in the Wesworth family for nearly 30 years.

Great Moments at Wesworth

The First T5 High bay... Back in the early days of retrofitting, Wesworth transformed an old 2x4 with new high output T5 lamps that had just arrived in the States. It was a pain to fabricate with its 4 ballasts and 44" lamps, but for a few Wesworth customers they had the precursor to the now ubiquitous T5 High bay light.... 3 years before any major manufacturer.

Wesworth's gas station during Wilma... After South Florida took a beating from Hurrican Wilma, there were no open gas stations. Wesworth responded and took its generator to several local gas stations. By providing electrcity to the fuel pumps, hundreds of people received fuel. During the peak of the crisis, lines to gas station were 4 miles long.
