The “electric orange” is designed to be more eye-catching than our traditional white and green trucks.
Even our tech's summer uniforms are bright orange.
Us Floridians used to be able to tell the new arrivals by the age of their hurricane food. This was because once you spent a year down here, you never bought another can of storm tuna.
The facts still indicate that Hurricanes are very rare to Florida.. Even after 04 & 05 seasons, much of Florida hasn't felt the impact of a major storm for decades. (Tampa has been storm free since '21)
I remember going to a great hurricane party when Floyd 'threatened' in 9/99. While maybe that carefree behaviour is misguided, the over-hyping of storms is equally bad.

Q: Are solar power systems for homes cost-effective?
A: Unfortunately, even with the presumed increase in FPL tariffs, the payback on most systems is still 12 years on a $50,000 typical home conversion.
However, solar lighting can be effective in remote locations, where the cost of installing electric is extensive. Some cost-effective examples are sign lighting and dock lighting.
Professional solar systems for a typical sign light are about $3000.
